Question 2- How effective is the combination of your main product and Ancillary Texts?

In many forms our group have used cross media promotion to produce an effective way for our three products to be shown to our audiences.Promotional materials such as the internet at home or via smart phones makes it easier for audiences to view one or maybe all three of our products.
Most film makers try to extend Audiences experience of the film through methods such as setting up a website. For example, The dark knight website not only promotes the film it self by showing bonus clips and selling DVDs on blue ray. It also understands that as a original comic book story, Fans are going to want more and therefore they sell all sorts of accessories, from belts and bags to stationariness, jewellery and replica models (like the bat mobile). this is a very good example of technological convergence.

The logo of the dark knight is symbolic and audiences can automatically familiarise with what the image represents. We adapted this idea of continuity by keeping the same font for our title 'Death of Love' in our magazine front cover, poster, and our Teaser trailer.

-Teaser Trailer

This was to insure that audiences viewing our products would automatically recognise the title and understand it. We also kept the colour same, red connotes passion, love, as well as danger. if we was to use a colour like white for example, this would confuse our audiences as the title suggest something gruesome and unlikely. The white would however paint a much brighter and happier image of 'Death of Love' .

The example below shows three sets of film posters and magazine front covers that use continuity in the products. This is shown through the use of the same photographs in 'Charlie and the chocolate factory',Twilight- New moon' ,and 'Sin city'
The example below shows how the form of continuity is not always use in magazine front covers and posters. The examples are of ; 'The dark knight' ,'Jennifer's body' and King Kong'

Drafts On how our film poster would look like on a Billboards.

The two examples were produced on photoshop as I goggled an image of billboards ect and pasted our film poster into it. The outcome shows that you can see the title and the pictures as well as the release date but not the film credits placed at the bottom.

the image above shows a template we made for our dvd release. as we cannot physically produce a dvd release. I decided to show a mock example of what our DVD would look like using photoshop and a template I found on goggle images.

Below is a Link to our website we produced.

Although it was difficult to find internet users that allow free websites to be publicised
we came across this site. webs.com that supplied free websites. Setting up the website was quiet difficult as I did not know how to create one due to not having any previous experience.
what we wanted to show to our audience was the simple way of viewing the teaser poster and some general information about the film and the people who made it. This basic method is also shown in promtional website for Nany Mcphee (2005) http://preview.redberrydigital.co.uk/nannymcphee/index.htm
